We are having way too much fun!!!

Can I just say that I'm loving living here in Virginia/DC area so much? We are having so much fun here. We have been taking advantage of everything this area has to offer. Once the weekend arrives IT'S PARTY TIME!!!! Since Scott is pretty much gone from 7am until 8pm Monday through Friday, Saturdays and Sundays are the only days we get to spend together all day and even some Saturday he goes to study for a few hours. We've been trying to go and see at least one place on the weekends. It's been a blast! A few weeks ago we went to the Natural History Museum. It was pretty crowded but it was fun to see all the cool dinosaurs! You could seriously spend days in each of the museums here.

Hope Diamond--45 carats!!! Yes you read it right 45!!!! It is even more incredible in person!!!

Braden seems to ALWAYS want to play with what Brielle is playing with...he's having a fit in this picture right in front of the Hope Diamond!!!

Brielle is generally such a good big sister to Braden. You can see she's giving him the care bear in this picture and usually tell him in a very sweet voice, "it's ok Bwaden, it's ok, here you go"

An old Post Office building, I don't know if it was the first post office building or what...we'll have to go and find out one of these weekends...but isn't it a beautiful building?

Two weekends ago we went to the zoo with the whole family. It was really, really HOT and we started the day late and missed most of the cool animals. But nonetheless, we had a great time and the main animal I wanted to see was the Panda and we were able to see them. They are so cute and cuddly!!!

A red panda.

Brielle thought she was so cool wearing my mom's hat.

This is the main reason I wanted to go to the zoo!!! Doesn't he just look so cuddly?

This last Sunday, after our Sunday nap, we wanted to go on a walk with the kids. We decided to drive to DC. There are so many FUN places to walk there. (BTW, since I've been here, I have noticed that everyone is so active and fit! People are always running, riding their bikes, etc. And it's awesome because there are trails everywhere that allow people to do that, it's great!) We went to the Jefferson Memorial, it was so beautiful. It was so nice because there weren't as many people and I have to say that this is one of my favorite spots I've been here in DC so far. It is just BEAUTIFUL!!! We kept walking and we went to the FDR Memorial, then it started to get dark and it was time to go home. But we had such a great time.

The Jefferson Memorial

It was just the perfect day to go on a walk!

Definitely my FAVORITE place in DC so far! I love the view!

The FDR Memorial. It's just so beautiful!

I've always seen pictures of this and I was finally able to see it in person!!! Scott thought he was being so funny!!!!:)

Scott and I were also able to go to the temple!!! I have to say that the DC Temple is the biggest temple I've ever been in!!! WOW!!! It is incredible!!!!! It's about a 20 minute drive from our house!

So far, we haven't had one boring weekend. It's also so nice to get together with my family on Saturdays! It's so nice to spend time together.

First of all... what great kids you have! Brielle is so cute and sharing (of course, like you said, not all of the time, but she still seems SO sweet!). Secondly, I'm so excited for you guys to have this adventure! I really love the DC area. There is so much to see and do there. It'll be fun for you to live in the mid-east coast and experience life there.

How fun! That is so nice to be able to have so much fun stuff to do around you! And the kids are adorable! I can't believe how fast they are growing up.

STOP Denisse; you're making me homesick! You're right; there's TONS of stuff to do around DC. Nick always calls the Museum of Natural History=the 'dead zoo'. The Smithosonians are fantastic. And I just had to laugh at the thought of comparing the National Zoo to our little Idaho Falls Zoo. Too funny. I am glad you're enjoying your new home! So is your mom & sister living near you?
BTW, the FDR monument is my favorite:)

Seeing all of your pictures makes me miss D.C.!! I remember my dad would drag us to a new museum or battle field every Saturday. I wasn't old enough to appreciate it then, but now I wish I could do all of those things again. :)

Oh I love the DC temple! When I was a kid I always said I was going to get married there although it was clear across the country. It is just so beautiful, especially at night with the lights. Anyways, it looks like you guys are having loads of fun! I (as well as the whole department) miss you here though! Yeah, I am teaching this semester and so far, so good! I love teaching here!

Okay, isn't is so cool that you live right by all of these places?!? I love it! I can't wait to come and visit. So far, we are still planning on thanksgiving.I am dying to come to your house. I'm so glad you are taking advantage of all of these wonderful things!!! We will have great tour guides!

Jack saw the picture of Brielle brushing her teeth and kept saying "Teesh! teesh!" Meaning...teeth. And he HAD to have his tooth brush! I am trying to teach him Brielle and Braden's name before we see you guys again.

Tell Brielle we miss her and we wish we could see you tomorrow! :) That makes me feel good that she said that.
