Thanksgiving 2014

I had so much fun setting up our table for Thanksgiving this year.
We have been so blessed this year, I always love this time of the year to reflect on our blessings and spend time together with family.

Brielle and Braden made these cute little turkey pinecones.  They went out and gathered the pinecones, we had the feathers from an earlier project from school and the kids just put them together when I was finishing up our dinner.  They turned out so cute and
they were my favorite part of our table.

I tried a couple of new recipes this year.  One was a cranberry/pomegranate salsa over cream cheese served with crackers.  It was so delicious and it was the perfect appetizer while we waited for everything else to be ready.

I brined and injected our turkey this year and turned out amazing!!!
I almost wished I would have cooked 2 of them, so we could have more leftovers.

We had a pretty good spread.
So much abundance.
We are truly blessed.

My cousin Coco's daughter Ashely joined us this year.  She is attending BYU-Idaho and came to stay with us for a few days and spend Thanksgiving with us.  It was fun to get to know her better.  She was so fun with the kids and they loved her.

My cute mom with a plate full of food!

My cute husband who has become a pro at carving our turkey and no one makes a better gravy!

My plate!
I love Thanksgiving food!
That stuffing is worth every second of work to prepare it.
It has apples, walnuts and pecans and onions! Hmmm! So yummy.

We were all stuffed, happy and thankful for our many blessings.
We were sad, however that the Friels weren't able to join us last minute.  Poor Jana came down with strep, she was in bed for a few days.  We sure missed those guys.  It is always fun when they are part of our holiday celebrations.  There is always next year!

The Friel kids came to play the day after Thanksgiving and we had a little Peruvian party with them.

These little girls were loving the long skirts!

Parker and Macie looked so cute in Peruvian traditional clothes!
Love those kiddos.

Thank you for the kind words! I'm still sad that we didn't make it. I'm totally loving the pictures of my kids in Peruvian clothes! You're just wonderful.

I just got around to reading this. I am much better and went to a R.S. thing the other night where a lady in our ward from Mongolia told a bit about life over there. Mongolia is land locked and it took 2 days and nights to get to the U.S. she is married to an American from Washington last name Swapp. She is a really pretty brunette and said people over there live to about 70. Some one told her I another lady was 90 she gave me a big hug and said it was so good to meet some one past 70. I love your blog Jana.

I just caught up reading your blog. You have such a gift for capturing the fleeting feelings and moments of life with pictures and words that last. You are truly an exemplary and wonderful mom and friend. The insights you shared from your miscarriage touched my heart. I have been thinking of it all month since you mentioned it to me. Much love to you, Denisse, always.
