18 Months.

Happy Monday!

If looking at this little 18 month old won't brighten your day today,
I don't know what will!
But perhaps I am quite biased because she's mine.
This toddler had a doctor check up on Friday and she was found healthy and strong,
which makes any parent happy.

She weighs 21 pounds 5 ounces (32%)
She is 31.1 inches tall (28%)

It looks like she fits right in with the rest of us Jensens.

Her vocabulary has expanded extensively these last few months.
She says:
mom
dad
Brielle
flower
up
bite
ball
baf (bath)
phone
eye
baba (for milk)
nana (banana)
boo!
boo (for book)
vroom (car)
hot
down
jum (jump)
bubble
bravo

She has a good 20 to 30 words.
I had forgotten how exciting it is when they start talking!

She is quite mischievous and a total mess maker!
The older kids are learning what is like to clean up messes that are not theirs.
It has been good for them.
She has an obsession with hair, any hair she pulls.
It is bad, It has proven to be quite the challenge in nursery.
(Braden was a biter and now Brooke is the hair puller...can I ever get a break?)
She is a daddy lover and does a happy dance when her daddy comes home from work.
She loves to eat avocados, strawberries, bananas, pears...she is a fruit lover and also a cheese lover.
She is growing out of her second nap, but could still take one.
She is a good napper and a good sleeper overall.

Brooke is essentially a good 18-month old.
I think we'll keep her!:)

I Think She Looks Like Me.

Out of my three kids, I think Brooke looks the most like me when I was a baby.

What do you think?

I found that picture of me and I was amazed at the similarities.
I was looking for a particular picture of Scott for a comparison, but I can't find it anywhere...
I'll keep looking.  I hope I can find it.

Crazy Hair.

I was looking through some photos from a couple of weeks ago and I found this little gem.
This is right after a bath and look at that crazy hair!
Her favorite game to play after bath time is running away from me
and not letting me put her diaper and pajamas on.
She thinks it is hilarious...me, not so much.

But I love her to pieces and deep down it makes me laugh.
I almost wish I could freeze those crazy, chaotic, right-before-bedtime moments.
I wish my body wasn't so exhausted at the end of the day,
so I could enjoy those moments more thoroughly.

For the grandparents and Tio Kemchu.

We don't have an infant anymore and I don't really know how that happened, it's been that way for a while now but I haven't been able to come to terms with it.
Brooke has entered toddlerhood and she is full into it.
She'll be 18 months exactly one month from tomorrow.
That means she'll be in nursery.
How is this possible?

A New-found Love│Books

Brookie has a new-found love.
I thought for a moment there that she could only love me.
But since I stopped nursing her she has become a little bit more independent.
Her new-found love is books.

She carries a book or two everywhere she goes.

She flips through the pages, looks at the pictures attentively,
then turns it to the next page and does the same thing over and over.
That little girl loves books.
I can't take full credit for this new-found love, however, I must admit that I have been slacking majorly in the reading department with her.  When I took her to the pediatrician last month, she asked me if I was reading with her everyday.  I said, 'do you want the truth? I am not consistent.'
I do read to her, but not everyday.
...and so from the own initiative of a 15-month old and a little reminder from our pediatrician,
we are reading every day.

That little Brookie sure makes my days happy and full.

Caught Red-handed.

Caught Red-handed:
To be caught in the act of committing a misdemeanor, with the evidence there for all to see.

The mischief continues...
But how can I ever get mad at that face?

I can't. I just can't get mad.
All I want to do is love her.
